In couples therapy, the clinician focuses on treatment plan goals and objectives designed for the couple. This often includes goals such as increasing effective communication, conflict resolution, rebuilding the friendship, and re-engaging in intimacy. Sessions are often structured alternating on a weekly basis between seeing the couple one week then each individual partner the following week. This is to ensure progress is made from each individual toward the couples’ treatment plan.

EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidenced-based therapeutic intervention designed to treat trauma-related disorders. This is a specialization and takes a qualified trained professional to conduct. Not everyone is a candidate for EMDR. If you are interested in this service, please consult your clinician who will do a thorough assessment to determine whether this intervention might be a right fit for you.
Individual Therapy
In individual sessions, the clinician focuses on your individual treatment plan goals and objectives to assist you in raising insight and awareness, changing behaviors and thought patterns, as well as reducing negative symptoms and interference in functioning. It includes psychoeducation, learning new coping skills, and processing triggers and stressors. Sessions are often structured on a weekly basis at first and then are titrated down in frequency according to treatment plan progress.
